The Town of Curup

The Town of Curup is located about 85 km from Bengkulu city. The town sits in an elevation of between 100-1,000 meters above sea level in the highlands of the Bukit Barisan mountain range. These mountains extend all the way from the north to southwest, to shape such as the spine of the island of Sumatra. Curup is home to the Rejang cultural group who live spread throughout several districts. Curup is a significant producer of rice, coffee, rubber, and vegetables. The rice and veggies of this town are offered to other notable cities around Sumatra like Palembang, Padang, Jambi, Bandar Lampung, and Pekanbaru.

The best location to observe this exceptional flora is at the rain forests along the Bengkulu Curup Road. It is the capital and principal the center of RejangLebong Regency from the Bengkulu Province that also acts as a gateway to some of the regency’s natural wonders like the Bukit Kaba, Suban Hot Spring, and Lake Mas HarunBastari.

Shape Bengkulu City, capital of Bengkulu Province, the overland excursion into Curup will take a bit over 2 hours. If you would like to attempt public transport, there are minivan services available at the Panorama bus Station. The road from Bengkulu to Curup can be emphasized with lots of curves and twisting turns, but your excursion will be well compensated by sceneries of Bengkulu’s pristine nature. Additionally, there are also transport services from South Sumatra, which passes through the city of Curup. These are on the paths from Bengkulu to LubukLinggau and Pagaralam to Bengkulu.
