Your first meeting with a prospective employer makes the most vivid impression. This is a good chance to get favorable reviews.

Keep dress code. This is the first time the interviewer will see you and, like it or not, what you wear could affect your chances of proceeding to the next round of interviews. Dress appropriately for the job you want.

Arrive on time. An interviewer is busy and you can’t waste his/her time. Your being late characterizes you as an irresponsible person.

Do your best to make the best first impression. As soon as you arrive at the company your interview begins. Introduce yourself in a courteous manner and be friendly to the receptionist, office assistant, or anyone else who may greet you before and after the interview. Many executives consider their administrative assistant's opinion of job candidates as an important part of the selection process for positions at all levels.

Read company materials while you wait.

Have a firm handshake and use body language to show interest. Smile, nod, and give nonverbal feedback to the interviewer.

Be ready to ask and answer questions. Keep in mind your resume and be able to cite specific examples that verify the information listed. If your job history has any weaknesses, prepare to defend them beforehand. Be honest while responding to questions. To show enthusiasm and verbal skills is important as well.

In the interview not only interviewer decides whether you are right for the job, but you also want to know if the position is right for you. You may ask any questions concerning job’s specifics, the company, the culture, and the hiring manager.
